Biography of Presenter:
Peter Micallef is the Program Director of Health Information Technology at Molloy College in Long Island. Before that he was the
Director of Medical Records at Victory Memorial Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. Mr. Micallef has been teaching ICD-9-CM and CPT coding at Molloy for the last 20 years.
He is a frequent presenter of CCS exam review for NYHIMA. Mr. Micallef has a MS degree from Columbia University and RHIA, CCS and CCS-P from AHIMA.
Agenda and Course Description:
All attendees must bring their own (current, updated) coding books which include ICD-9 CM and CPT 4.
9 AM – Noon: ICD-9-CM
Noon – 1 PM: Lunch on your own
1 PM – 4 PM: CPT-4
The multiple choice questions and coding case studies will be related to the competencies from the Certification guide for the CCS and CCS-P exams.
The temporary codes for emerging technology, services and procedures will be reviewed.
